Castelmola Wedding

What a place, what a wedding! Charlotte and Johannes’ Castelmola Wedding was just awesome in every way. I’ve been to many places in Italy in the past to photograph weddings, though I’ve never been to Sicily. To say that I was blown away would be an understatement. Taormina has completely stolen my heart. I’m super excited to get back there its one of my favourite Italy Wedding Locations for sure. I remember asking Charlotte and Johannes why they chose to marry there. Coincidentally they both met here whilst studying languages in Taormina. So it was the perfect place for them to get married and as an added bonus it is one of the most beautiful places in the world.

Bridal Preparations At Villa Schuler

Charlotte got ready at the beautiful Hotel Villa Schuler. When I arrived at the villa I took a quick look around the gardens they have there and the incredible views out onto the sea. I just had a good feeling about this wedding and I wasn’t wrong. When I first went into the room to meet the girls they were all smiling, all ahead of time and really enjoying the morning. I always feel super privileged to be apart of peoples weddings and have a front row seat to it all. The girls were drinking Prosecco and relaxing whilst making finishing touches to them looking amazing! Once Charlotte was ready we stepped outside the villa and it was super warm! Though that didn’t stop us getting a few snaps of the bride Charlotte before heading off to marry her best friend.

Sicilian Wedding Ceremony

OK it wasn’t technically a Sicilian wedding ceremony as it took place in the beautiful St. George Anglican Church. Though the ceremony was in Sicily. It was such a nice ceremony and Charlotte and Johannes looks super happy. They had some of their friends doing some beautiful singing which was just incredible. Charlotte is friends with people in the performing industry so it was a nice treat for everyone! Both Charlottes and Johannes fathers spoke during the service too. After the awesome ceremony was over we headed outside to the small but beautiful and cool grounds of the church were we threw confetti and everyone was chatting and congratulating the newlyweds! A great day to be a Taormina Wedding Photographer.

Speeches, Dancing + Views Of Etna

I’m pretty sure that from wherever you are in Sicily you can see Mount Etna. I’m not sure where the best view of the volcano is but its beautiful from Charlotte and Johannes wedding reception venue. It was at Ristorante Pizzeria Al Saraceno which is super close to Chiesa Madonna della Rocca at the top of the hill. It has great views over Taormina and also across the bay to Naxos. Planning a wedding in Italy must be so hard just for the very reason that there are so many options! The food here was some of the best food I’d eaten in all of Italy so a huge thanks to both Charlotte and Johannes for feeding me and the other suppliers! The beautiful speeches in between the meals where fantastic and I almost began to get a little emotions myself! Once the speeches were over and the music began the party really got started and I’m not sure there was a moment when the dance floor was empty. Though I dont think this was going to happen with the mixture of an upbeat wedding party and then music and saxophone by Cat On Sax and MUSIC. Lets just say I’m a little excited for me next Castelmola Wedding!
