During my time shooting as an Italy Wedding Photographer I’ve been incredibly lucky to capture weddings in some of the most beautiful regions. Tuscany could possible be my favourite of them all. Yeah for sure the mountainous view of Lake Como are incredible and the elevated grandeur of Lake Garda are super impressive. Though I really think that Tuscany has my heart. That being said, on a recent trip to Sicily in the town of Taormina I was really taken back by its character and beautiful Italian vibe. I decided though that because of its sheer size and how it constantly carried its vibe throughout, that being a Tuscany Wedding Photographer is my favourite task.
I have put together a short list of the Best Wedding Venues In Italy for various regions. This chapter is Tuscany and after doing some research I was getting really excited about the possibility of photographing weddings at some of these venues!
I’ve had the pleasure of shooting some incredible Tuscany weddings at some of the most stunning wedding venues in Tuscany, but I’ve yet to have the pleasure of visiting Le Filigare.
Le Filigare is a beautiful vineyard with over three hundred years of history, which includes producing delectable wines, hosting Pope Pio IX, and the Arch Duke of Tuscany. Le Filigare offers just the right mix of luxury and the quiet countryside the best vineyard Tuscany weddings offer.
The venue has that old-world romance, the weather in the region warm and dry for most of the year, and the extensive gardens provide the perfect backdrop for outdoor weddings and of course, incredible wedding photos to treasure for the rest of your lives.
Le Filigare also offers a small ballroom, perfect for indoor celebrations, and their surrounding villas and apartments mean that the whole wedding party can stay right there on the property, so no one has to figure out how to find their way back to their accommodation late after the wedding celebrations.
Villa Catureglio
If during your Tuscany wedding planning, you’ve been dreaming of the perfect Tuscan villa for your wedding, this is it. Villa Catureglio is a private, traditional villa nestled in the foothills of the Alpe Apuane, full of history.
The estate dates back to the 13thcentury and caters for wedding celebrations year-round. Licenced for civil ceremonies, blessings can be held in the frescoed chapel, and the estate is capable of holding weddings of up to 120 people, but is also perfect for intimate weddings.
The traditional barn creates a warm, historic Italian atmosphere, and the ornamental gardens are the perfect place to sneak away from the party to take a moment for your newlywed photos, or just a moment alone.
The venue is within an hours’ drive of Pisa airport, you can purchase a complete package that includes four nights’ rent of the venue, and accommodation for up to 41 people. They are also happy to advise you on catering, other local services, and Italian documentation.
The incredible architecture and design inside and outside this villa put it firmly on the list of places I hope to photograph a wedding at as soon as possible.
Villa Di Ulignano
Villa di Ulignano is a dream venue for Tuscany weddings; both for couples and me! This venue is truly magical and in my opinion, one of the best wedding venues in Tuscany.
You can completely immerse yourself in a world all your own for the duration of your wedding with your nearest and dearest around you, and feel like you’ve slipped between the pages of a historical romance novel. You can stroll in the park under the moonlight, spend time with your loved ones by the pool, and enjoy complete seclusion for a week.
If you have the time and the budget for the ultimate Tuscan wedding, this hasto be on your shortlist. Villa di Ulignano will offer you and your family the dream destination wedding you’ll all never forget. (Especially if you have a great photographer with you catching every moment!)
If you’re looking for wedding venues in Tuscany that offer you complete flexibility in how you use the space, and you don’t want anyone to encroach on your big day, this venue is the perfect solution.
Castello di Casole
If you’re looking for beautiful wedding venues in Tuscany to shortlist, Castello di Casole deserves a place on it. This timeless hotel offers a taste or aristocratic rural life with all the modern luxuries you need and want.
The hotel is surrounded by sprawling vineyards and rolling hills and has 4,200 acres of private property. The estate dates back to the 10thcentury, so when you marry here you infuse almost a millennium of history into your wedding.
At Castello die Casole, you can continue to stay for your Honeymoon and take part in all the local activities, such as truffle hunting and visiting all the local vineyards. The hotel is closed through the winter, but the atmosphere of the hotel in the spring and summer is the perfect backdrop for a magical wedding.
Villa Cetinale
Villa Cetinale is another venue dreams are made of, especially if you’re looking for somewhere with a traditional feel, but completely your own. Villa Cetinale is a 17th-century villa built in 1680 for Pope Alexander VII, with gardens that are renowned as being some of the best in Italy.
Villa Cetinale is another venue you can rent out in its entirety and use as the location for your wedding, reception, family-time before and after the wedding, and as your base as you visit other areas of Italy. Despite its secluded feel, it is centrally located for sightseeing, shopping, visiting amazing restaurants, and exploring the best Tuscany has to offer.
If you’re at the start of your Tuscany wedding planning, this venue definitely deserves your attention, as you can use the space in whatever way best serves your wedding. Dine out in the gardens, spend time up in the beautiful rooms, and live like historical aristocracy for the duration of your wedding festivities. A dream venue for both couples and Destination Wedding Photographers.
