Peckforton Castle Winter Wedding

Statistically most weddings take place in the summer. When the weather is generally better and there is light until late into the evening. However, even though they are less popular winter weddings are equally as beautiful in my opinion. This particular Peckforton Castle Winter Wedding of Steph and Dearg was so so nice. It had amazing moments and the atmosphere was amazing. I hope this blog post gives you a little taste of both the wedding and my experience as a Cheshire Wedding Photographer shooting at one of the best Cheshire wedding venues there is.

Stunning Castle Wedding Ceremony

The bridal preparations began with Steph, her close friends and family all hanging out in an allocated room within the castle. Things began to get emotional when cards where opened and personalised and sentimental gifts were exchanged. Steph is super close to her grandmother and she was an honorary bridesmaid!

Once the preparations were over and the time had come for Steph to make her way to the great hall to marry the man of her dreams. The Great Hall is a stunning ceremony room and screams grandeur. With its vaulted ceilings and stained glass windows and finally filled with wedding guests. The scene was set. I remember the look on Steph’s face as she walked down the aisle super excited!

Speeches During Wedding Breakfast

When photographing the speeches during the wedding breakfast I love to work out who is who and also who means what to who (if I haven’t done already with a pre wedding meeting with the couple). I do this as I love to get photos of speakers, though I love to capture all the reactions even more. This wedding was no exceptions with speeches from the brides mum to start. Which is a slight break in tradition, though that’s not a bad thing at all. There was not a dull face in the room during these speeches, I would have loved to be a guest at this wedding. However, Stephanie and Dearg really did make me feel like I was a part of their wedding.  During the wedding breakfast Steph has surprised Dearg with a singer waiter. If you’ve not heard of these you should check them out. It was a great experience and it really did get the entire room super excited.

Great Hall First Dance

From start to finish this wedding just so much fun to shoot. I love shooting Peckforton Castle Weddings and after shooting this one I think I love it even more. Steph and Deargs first dance in the Great Hall where they had the wedding ceremony was just perfect. They were surrounded by all of their close friends and family. This great hall is a great place for first dances and wedding parties.  I know the newlyweds have worked hard in the wedding planning eating up to this wedding and they’ve also waited patiently to tie the knot themselves. So to see them during their first dance was really nice to watch. Don’t get me wrong the wedding went on for much longer but they just had some great moments between them.
