Beautiful, natural wedding photography
for couples getting married in the Cotswolds
who want to enjoy their day, not perform for it
.
If you want wedding photos that feel elegant, emotional, and true to how it all actually felt, without spending the day posing, you’re in the right place.
I photograph weddings in the Cotswolds in a way that feels calm, natural, and easy, so you can stay present in it all and still come away with beautiful photographs that feel like your wedding, not a performance.
Cotswolds Wedding Photographer
Hey, I’m Ste. I’m a wedding photographer with over 10 years of experience and I’ve photographed more than 400 weddings. If you’re planning a wedding in the Cotswolds and want photography that feels relaxed, stylish, and full of real life, I’d love to be there for it.
The Cotswolds is one of the most beautiful parts of the UK to get married in. The honey stone villages, the gardens, the manor houses, the barns, the rolling countryside, the softness of the light. It all suits the kind of weddings I love to photograph.
But for me it’s never just about the setting. It’s about the people in it. The nerves before the ceremony. The look on your dad’s face when he sees you ready. The squeeze of a hand during the vows. The way your friends completely lose themselves on the dance floor later on. That’s the stuff that matters. That’s the stuff I’m always looking for.

Wedding photography that feels like your day actually felt
A lot of couples come to me because they love the idea of beautiful photos, but hate the idea of feeling like they’re on display all day. They want their wedding to feel effortless, not over directed. They want to enjoy it, not be managed through it.
That’s exactly how I work. My approach is documentary at heart, with just enough gentle direction when needed so you never feel awkward or left wondering what to do. The result is a set of photographs that feel honest and full of atmosphere, but still have that polished, editorial quality running through them.
Nothing forced. Nothing over posed. Just your wedding, beautifully photographed.
Why I love photographing weddings in the Cotswolds
One of the reasons I love photographing weddings here is that the whole area has a softness and charm to it. There’s warmth in the buildings, character in the villages, and a calmness to the countryside that gives weddings here a really special feel.
It’s no surprise so many couples travel here from all over the UK and beyond to get married. The Cotswolds has that rare balance of feeling elegant and relaxed at the same time, which is exactly the kind of atmosphere I love to photograph.
Weddings for me are the most beautiful thing to photograph. I sometimes don’t really see myself as just a wedding photographer. I’m photographing people, relationships, emotion, energy, anticipation, and the connection between everyone there. That’s what makes a wedding gallery feel alive years later.
How much is a wedding photographer in the Cotswolds?
Wedding photography in the Cotswolds can vary massively depending on experience, approach, level of coverage, and the kind of service you’re looking for. You’ll see prices from around £800 right through to £6000 and beyond.
Rather than just looking at price, I’d always recommend looking at how a photographer makes you feel. Do you connect with their work? Can you imagine them being around you and your favourite people all day? Do their images make you feel something, or do they just look nice?
Once you’ve got a shortlist of photographers whose style you love and whose pricing feels realistic for you, it’s always worth jumping on a quick video call. You’ll get a much better feel for whether they’re the right fit, and that makes a huge difference on the wedding day itself.
Some Cotswolds wedding venues I love
The Cotswolds is full of incredible wedding venues, and each one brings its own energy to the day. Some feel grand and editorial. Some feel intimate and cosy. Some are all about the gardens and views. Some are perfect if you want a relaxed house party feel with everyone together for the whole weekend.
If you’re still venue hunting, or just want a feel for what’s here, have a look at my Cotswold wedding venues guide, my roundup of outdoor wedding venues in the Cotswolds, and barn wedding venues in the Cotswolds.
- Caswell House: One of the first weddings I ever photographed was at Caswell House. It’s a stylish and beautiful 15th century venue with everything in one place, which helps the day flow naturally and gives loads of variety for photographs.
- Barnsley House: This feels more like a house than a traditional venue, which gives weddings here a really intimate feel. It’s elegant, calm, and perfect for couples who want something stylish without it feeling over formal.
- Calcot Hotel: Slightly more traditional, but the wedding photos I took here were just beautiful. There’s loads of variety across the space, which is great for portraits, family photos, and those quieter in between moments.
- Hyde House: Smaller than some others, but this venue is gorgeous. I photographed a summer wedding here and it was amazing. The staff are wonderful and it’s exactly the kind of venue that lets a wedding feel relaxed while still looking stunning.
Real moments from Cotswolds weddings
One of the best ways to get a feel for whether I’m the right photographer for you is to look through full weddings rather than just a handful of highlights. That’s where you really see how I photograph a day as it unfolds, from the quieter bits in the morning right through to the chaos later on.

Kind words from Cotswolds couples
“We were worried about feeling awkward in front of the camera, but Ste made everything feel so easy. Nothing felt staged, and he captured the atmosphere of our Cotswolds wedding better than we could have imagined.”
“The photos feel like us. Not a version of us trying to look a certain way, just us having the best day with our favourite people in the Cotswolds. That’s exactly what we wanted.”
“We barely noticed him for most of our Cotswolds wedding day, but when we got the gallery back it was like reliving everything properly. So many moments we’d forgotten, and all of it felt so real.”
Cotswolds wedding photographer FAQs
Do you photograph weddings all across the Cotswolds?
Yes, absolutely. I photograph weddings across the Cotswolds and surrounding areas, including Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, and beyond.
Do you do mostly documentary photography?
Yes. Documentary is at the heart of how I work. I’ll give gentle direction when it helps, especially for couple portraits or family photos, but the day is never over controlled.
What if we’re awkward in front of the camera?
Most of my couples say this. You do not need to know what to do. I’ll guide you in a way that feels natural, without making things feel forced or overly posed.
How long do you stay for?
That depends on the wedding, but most couples book coverage that tells the full story of the day, from the getting ready through to dancing later on.
Can we see full weddings?
Definitely. I’m always happy to show full galleries so you can see how I photograph a whole wedding day, not just the highlights.
