York Minster Wedding Photography

I had the best time ever making this York Minster Wedding Photography early in 2022. After the long winter we had and the pandemic before that, it was so refreshing to be out in the sun shooting this incredible wedding. I have photographed weddings all over the world and in some amazing places. Though no matter how far I travel or how luxurious the location, it always boils down to the people that make a wedding. Getting Ready At Oakwood At Ryther

Abbie, her bridesmaids, mother and other close friends and family got ready here at the Oakwood At Ryther before heading over to York Minster for the wedding ceremony. It was my first time shooting at the Oakwood At Ryther. Like it will be for most wedding photographers I think as its a relatively new wedding venue. I was super new pre pandemic and it got halted in its tracks. It was supper annoying for the venue and all of the brides and grooms that where excited about having there big day here. Anyway I absolutely love this place and if your having a York Minster Wedding Ceremony and you need a spot for your wedding reception then do checkout the Oakwood At Ryther.

York Minster Wedding Ceremony

York Minster is one of the worlds most magnificent cathedrals. According to their website anyway. I can tell you that this is quite accurate actually. Ive been to quite a few around the work and even my own city in Liverpool has 2! This is one of the largest of its kind in Northern Europe and therefore makes for the perfect location for Abbie and Dan. They both have huge personalities and it just feels like you’ve known them for years as soon as you meet them.

This history of York Minster dates all the way back to 627! Yeah there isn’t any digits missing from that number, six two seven! So you can imagine the history and all of the events that have happened here over the years. It really is a special place and it was a pleasure to shoot my wedding photography here. Makes me really excited about being a Yorkshire Wedding Photographer more and more. Ive got more great weddings lined up for this county soon!

Portraits Around York Minster

Those of you who are reading that have been to York will know how beautiful it is. Just walking around the historic town is an interesting activity in itself. York Minster stands out in all of its grandeur from the picturesque city and the area that surrounds the minster is just the perfect location for wedding photographs. Using my laid back natural approach with minimal direction. I was able to capture Abbie and Dan as newlyweds and looking at their best. The light was perfect and the scene had been set for me to make these images. I hope you like the portraits that follow.

Speeches and Wedding Reception

So now we are back at The Oakwood At Ryther and after the beautiful wedding ceremony at York Minster. Abbie and Dan threw an amazing wedding and it was so great to be up close to it all. During the speeches at a wedding, people get really personal and the moments created are just amazing to watch. I get to know my bride and grooms a little before the wedding. Though listening to the speeches I get to know them more and more. I’m extremely grateful to do what I do for a living and cant wait to shoot more weddings here!
