Emma and James booked me to shoot their Yorebridge House Wedding Photography and I was super excited. Not only because I was excited to shoot at this amazing wedding venue. I had also had a really good chat with Emma and James over the phone and I knew we connected really well and it was going to be a great wedding. I did a little research on this Yorkshire Dales wedding venue and tying this in with the type of wedding the couple wanted I knew it was going to be awesome. Below you can see some of the images from this wedding along with some content to have a read of.
The weather from October all the way through to the start of spring 2020 has been just awful. It’s been one of those winters that are difficult to make the most of as its been super dull, wet and windy. Though for some reason on the 31st of December 2019 it was one of the nicest winter days Emma and James could have asked for. The skies were clear the sun was shining and it was the perfect crisp winter morning. You’ll see on the images further down this blog post of the atmosphere and surrounding views on that morning. Whilst Emma was getting ready at Yorebridge house with the girls, the guys were getting ready in the adjacent coach house. Almost all of Emma’s bridesmaids have already been married and she had been to their weddings. You could tell how close they all where, super close friends and they all couldn’t have been prouder to have been bridesmaids for Emma. The mother of the bride Nicola and Emma’s sister Caitlin (also a bridesmaid) were also crazy excited for Emma and as the morning developed and it got closer and closer to the wedding ceremony the atmosphere began to change in a super exciting way.
Father Of The Bride Seeing His Daughter
I so excited to share this moment the father of the bride Stewart saw his daughter all ready to marry the love of her life. It was such a nice moment for them and pretty much one of their last moments both being Regans! During the course of the wedding I spoke to Stewart a couple of times and he’s a top guy. His speech was super cool too. As a father and a husband myself I resonated with so much of it. Hope you love these reaction images below! There are some from the speech further down the post.
St Mary and St John’s Church Wedding Ceremony
Just a short drive away from Yorebridge House is St Mary and St John’s Church in Hawdraw. We were all shuttled there in the Land Rover before Emma arrived separately with Stewart in another vehicle. The sun was shining and all of the wedding guests were waiting inside. The wedding party walked along the narrow path leading to the church before pausing for a few moments before going in.
The wedding ceremony was amazing and it was an absolute pleasure to have had a front row seat to the whole thing. From the words that were given from Caitlin and Landon to the exchanging of rings. The look on James’ face and the first kiss. It was just beautiful and having captured all of these moments I hope the images make these guys smile for a very long time.
Bride & Groom Photos
Following the beautiful wedding ceremony there was still much more to go for this wedding at Yorebridge House. Emma and James drove off from the church with tin can clanging from their wedding car. I made it back to Yorebridge in good time to ensure we had time to get some laid back and natural portraits of the newly weds. Although we had amazing weather we were losing light fast. A short walk along the bridge that goes over the River Ure and we got some beautiful winter sun portraits of Emma and James before heading in for their wedding reception.
Wedding Reception At Yorebridge House
I mentioned a little about the speeches earlier in the post and how much I loved that speech that the father of the bride gave. All of the speeches were great and it all took part in a beautiful tipi set up just outside the main house. It was heated with a fire inside and beautifully decorated. Once the wedding breakfast had been eaten and the speeches were over. The main party began with the cutting of the cake and the first dance for Emma and James as husband and wife. I absolutely loved photographing this wedding at Yorebridge House and really hope you enjoy the images!
