If you’ve spent some time looking for the perfect wedding venue and are considering getting married in the Lake District, you must consider a Town Head Estate Wedding. This incredible place is one of the best Lake District Wedding Venues in the whole county. It has everything you could hope for in a wedding venue up here in Cumbria. Incredible views, gorgeous grounds, a lakeside jetty and amazing staff to make your lake district wedding the perfect day. As a Lake District Wedding Photographer I’m extremely proud to be one of the first wedding photographers to shoot here and what a wedding it was!
The Town Head Estate is on private and ancient parkland and it perfectly situated on the southern shores of Lake Windermere. Having personally met Cheryl and David who own, run and restored this place. I can tell you that there has been so much love, sweat and most likely tears put into making this place as beautiful as it is. Having a Town Head Estate Wedding means you and your wedding guest will have complete exclusivity to the venue. You’ll have your own private spot of the Lake District for you and your wedding guests.
Bridal Preparations At The Town Head Estate
Each and every bride to their own I always say. Though sometimes there is a huge advantage to having a wedding venue that has not only exclusive use. But its very own bridal preparation suite. The annexed building adjacent to the main barn is the most beautiful location to get ready. From the spacious rooms to the dreamy light that spills into some of the rooms. Amy and her bridesmaids all got ready here before the wedding ceremony and once they were all looking incredible and the veil was fitted. It was just a short walk to the ceremony.
On the moring of the wedding there was a small shower and even my weather app had said there were going to be showers all day. Luckily for the bride and groom, the day was dry. Pretty much all day. I especially love this morning photo of Amy and her mother, just after Amy was ready to go;
The wedding ceremony room here at the Town Head Estate has so much character to it. Which is great as the venue has a very modern feel to it. Yet the history of the barn still seeps through. It all adds to the atmosphere in my opinion and makes for a great wedding. It has a really nice intimate feel to it. The wooden floors, high ceilings and pocket windows along the way, make it touch a gorgeous walk for Amy to walk down to meet her groom and future husband. You may not to choose to have your Lake District Wedding Ceremony here at the Town Head Estate, though the benefit aside from it being super nice, is that your straight into your drinks reception with no need to travel.
The grounds here on the banks of Lake Windermere are simply stunning! With only a short 10 minute walk down to Lake Windermere and acres of woodland, quaint green houses and gorgeous gardens. This place is so nice when it comes to your wedding photography. I mainly take a documentary approach to my wedding photos, though I love shooting the bride and groom alone. Here I took Amy + Omar for a short walk. They spent some time away from their guests for only a short period. I don’t do a lot of posing, though give some mild direction to make sure my couples are always in the most flattering light.
The Town Head Estate hosts such a great room for your wedding reception to be in. Here in this photo you can see the Grooms reaction to the best mans speech. Absolutely love this wedding cake too in the shot below the speeches one. I love incorporating all of the guests into this super traditional wedding photo to make it a little more interesting.
Town Head Estate Weddings From The Sky
Just to give you a sense of what a Town Heat Estate Wedding would feel like. I have some aerial photos taken from above the venue. This should give you a little sense of the surrounding area is like. This first shot was taken from directly above the venue itself. It looks north up the 10 miles of Lake Windermere. Imagine walking down to the lake sure with your bride or groom whilst soaking up this atmosphere on your wedding day.
This second photo is the Town Head Estate itself. This photo was taken the day after the wedding day during Omar and Amy’s post wedding BBQ. There is such a laid back feel here and having a more informal and relaxed function the day after your wedding should definitely be considered. Thats if you can secure a date at this extremely popular and sought after wedding venue.
Below you can see the boat from Amy + Omars wedding. Here the guests took a 20 minute journey along Lake Windermere on a hot day whilst enjoying a cool cumbrian breeze.
