Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty

The Lake District has long been a UK holiday destination for a reason: it has incredible scenery, endless romance, and is just remote enough to make you feel like you are far, far away from the worries of day-to-day life. The Lake District is the largest of Britain’s national parks, and the beauty of the area has inspired the work of William Wordsworth, Beatrix Potter, and John Ruskin. If you want to feel like you’ve been whisked away to the setting of a romance novel, you should look no further.

Incredible Wedding Venues

If you’re looking for a charming country manor nestled in the mountains, or a lakeside mansion with a dock overlooking a glittering lake, the Lake District is your perfect wedding destination. The venues within the national park are rich with history, and you can be a part of it as well as make a piece of your own family history here. If you want to see some of my favourite venues, click here. I especially love shooting at New House Farm and you can se my work as a New House Farm Wedding Photographer.

The Local Food

The Lake District is abundant with organic locally grown produce, hand-reared meat, and locally sourced fish. If you and your partner are big on food, you won’t be short for choice on great companies to cater your wedding, whether you plan to have a full sit-down dinner or a hog roast outside in the sun. For drink, don’t forget to try some of the beer from the independent local breweries – and share them with your guests!

Incredible Wedding Photos!

I just love being a Lake District Wedding Photographer. I couldn’t make a list about Lake District weddings without mentioning the photos! Lake District wedding photos are always incredible; the mountains and lakes provide the perfect backdrop for romantic and intimate photos, rain or shine. The historic venues offer beautiful gardens overlooked by the fells, and the interior of the historic homes bring a magical element to the memories of your day. During Clare + Richie’s Lake District Wedding I was lucky enough to capture some amazing images for them. I super amazing spot for a great photo even if its a wedding or not is Surprise View. Its super close to Lodore Falls and when I photograph weddings there its an incredible place to shoot from.

An Amazing Honeymoon

The beauty and versatility of the Lake District means you don’t have to return home immediately after your wedding, nor do you need to rush to the airport. There are plenty of incredible hotels, spas, and cottages to stay in right here in the Lake District. If you and your partner love to stay active, stick around and take advantage of the hiking and see more of the stunning scenery than you can by car.

If you’re not up for hiking, visit William Wordsworth’s childhood home, relax in one of the spas, or take a helicopter ride to get a bird’s eye view of the fells and dales. In the evenings, taste the local food offered in the numerous pubs and restaurants in the villages and hamlets peppered throughout the national park.
