Bridal Preparations At Cripps Barn

So Laura never actually got ready at this beautiful Gloucestershire wedding venue. It was just a short 15 minute drive with her bridesmaids and the father of the bride from the prep location. Though here below you can see a couple of images of Laura and her three bridesmaids just before the barn wedding ceremony began. Its candid moments like this that I just love to photograph on a wedding day. It’s all about the feelings and anticipation in these images.

Cotswold Stone Barn Ceremony

Cripps barn is an 18th century Cotswold stone barn and can host up to 150 wedding guests to witness you and your partner saying your vows to each other. I often get asked by other wedding photographers if I’ve used artificial light when making my Cripps barn wedding photography here. The reason for that is the light is so perfect for photos that it looks like its too good to be true. So with my years of experience of shooting weddings and the light available here, its a recipe for the perfect wedding photography.

Portraits At Cripps Barn

Almost all of my wedding photography is from a candid perspective. Even when I’m shooting my portraits of just the couple and we go off and spend a short amount of time together. I like these photos to be candid too. Sure there is an element of direction from me. This is just to make sure the composition and light is at its most flattering. The only exception to my candid wedding photography is when I do the formal photos of your immediate family etc. These are usually kept to a minimum though I’m happy to take what you need.

Speeches and Wedding Reception

I know I’ve already mentioned a few times how good this venue is for light etc. Though it continues into when the wedding speeches and reception happen too. From the speeches to the cake cutting the venue has so much potential. Ive used artificial light during the speeches and everything after including the first dance. The wedding that you can see on this post was a winter wedding so any natural light was none existent at this time of the day. Though I wanted to share with you some images to show you that if you have a dark wedding venue, your in good hands with a photographer that is great with artificial light.
