5 Reasons For A Cotswold Wedding
Getting married is an incredibly exciting time, but it can also be a stressful one. You’ve got a lot of (expensive) decisions to make, and you’ve got just one chance to get it right. If you are trying to decide what location will give you the most breath-taking backdrops for your wedding photography and the best range of venues, look no further than the Cotswolds. Here are 5 reasons you should have a Cotswold wedding.
The Picturesque Scenery
There are few places in the UK that can boast such beautiful scenery without an A-road cutting through the middle of it, but fortunately, the Cotswolds are just far enough off the beaten path that they have largely gone untouched. Everywhere you look is picture-ready, so if you’re looking for a fairy-tale wedding and beautiful backdrops for your photos, you cannot go wrong here. The Cotswolds look beautiful year round, but spring and summer bring all the venue gardens into full-bloom and make for especially beautiful photographs.
Incredible Architecture
You’ll struggle to find an ugly building in the Cotswolds, let alone an unattractive wedding venue, as even the post offices look like they should be on a postcard. There are plenty of famous historic landmarks to visit, such as Blenheim Palace, and you won’t be short for choice of venue. Two of my favourites are Caswell House and Barnsley House, both of which feature the signature honey-coloured Cotswold stone walls, manicured gardens, and flexible inside and outside space.
If you’re interested in seeing a past wedding from Caswell House, you can click here to see images and learn more about the venue, and you can read this article on Cotswold Wedding Venues to discover more that may suit you.
Plenty to See
Whether your guests are coming just for the day, or plan to stay for a few nights, they won’t fail to be charmed by the beautiful villages and calmed by the green rolling hills. If they plan to stay the night, they can take advantage of the network of footpaths for walks, local pubs for drinks and dinner, and turn their nights’ stay into a minibreak to have fun and relax.
It’s also a great opportunity to get a jump-start on your honeymoon – either stay in the Cotswolds to take advantage of the beautiful location now that the hard work is over, or take a short break to relax before you head off abroad.
A Thriving Wedding Industry
Cotswold weddings aren’t exactly unpopular (or even a well-kept secret), and you’ll have no shortage of florists, caterers, musicians, transport and anything else you need supplied to choose from to make your day a complete success. For many of these businesses, most of their income will come from local weddings, so they’ll be completely professional and help the day run smoothly.
Endless Photo Opportunities
The incredible scenery, charming chocolate box villages, and grand houses offer you endless opportunity to record beautiful memories of your wedding day. I can work with you to bring all your ideas to life and tell the story of your wedding day from start to finish, capturing the love between you, your partner, family, and friends, so you can keep the memories alive forever. As a Cotswolds Wedding Photographer I’ve been extremely lucky to shoot weddings here and its one of my favourite places in the world to shoot weddings.
