Bodrum is known as the St. Turkey and although places like Italy and France may be more popular for weddings Destination Wedding Photographers are just as keen to shoot here as it really is one of the most beautiful places for weddings in Turkey.
So many couples still love to get married here every year. With Turkey’s breathtaking mountains, stunning beaches, and super nice hotels any wedding is going to be incredible here. You can also just go ahead and have your honeymoon straight away. After all, you’re on the Aegean sea and super close to the Mediterranean too.
If you’ve chosen Bodrum as the location for your wedding you’l still have the difficult choice of choosing a wedding venue here. With so many great venues to chose from your spoilt for choice. You’ll most likely make your decision on perhaps the size of your wedding and if your going to have a huge reception or maybe you just want an intimate wedding and something small near the beach is perfect for you and your bride or groom.

The Marmara
A super romantic wedding venue The Marmara offers a perfect location for a wedding. You can have your wedding ceremony at the panoramic Tuti Lighthouse that has incredible views across Bodrum. The have award winning chefs that will provide you with the best wedding breakfast you can imagine. Its one of the words best boutique hotels and has a 5 star diamond award. This wedding venue is also extremely popular for honeymoons. So as you can imagine its super romantic and they even have special rooms specifically for newlyweds.
Caresse
If you have your Bodrum wedding here, you’ll be having it on the Aegean Rivera and won’t be disappointed. They pride them selves in attention to detail which is relatively important when it comes to weddings. It really is a luxury resort and a place that Bodrum Wedding Photographers are all keen to photograph weddings at. Its nestled in its own private cove and has amazing views of the Aegean Sea. You’ll be wanting to take plenty of photos yourself! The Caresse is an exclusive wedding venue when you take up the main deck and you can have up to 400 guests.
One of the great things about having your wedding in Bodrum is that there is so much for your wedding guests (and you of course) to do before and after your wedding.
As if the turquoise waters were not enough to enjoy there is plenty more to do for you and your wedding guests. There are lots of ancient attractions for sightseeing and the town of Bodrum itself is super photogenic and you’ll love taking photos here yourself. I think its easy for Bodrum Wedding Photographers to take it for granted, though it’s some where I love taking photos when i’m not shooting weddings in Turkey.
Explore The Old Town
Maybe a day or two before your wedding your guests can enjoy the old town of Bodrum. It is situated just behind the Castle of St Peter. Its saturated in whitewashed stone-cut cottages and if your taking photos here it will look like your photos are straight from a postcard. Even the most amateur of photographers would love taking photos here for hours.
Boat Trips On Aegean Sea
Turkey is quite a large country though most people think of the beautiful beaches and waters when they think of Turkey. So perhaps the day after your wedding once all of the wedding cake has gone, the first dance is over and the wedding reception is still fresh on your mind. Get out onto the waters for a relaxing trip. You’ll find plenty for your wedding guests at the Bodrum harbour on boat trips etc.
Shopping At The Bazaar
Once the wedding is over and everyone has enjoyed the wedding ceremony, laughed and cried during all of the speeches. It will be close for everyone to rerun home. Before you do that though you can hit the modern bazaar or Turkish Market for some retail therapy to take a piece of Bodrum home with you. Its not a traditional Turkish Market though it’s full of textiles, colours and souvenirs for you to take home with you.
As a destination wedding photographer, I’ve been lucky enough to photograph weddings all over the world. For some strange reason Bodrum and Turkey do not seem as popular as other places and i cant see why. It’s so much more value for money, it’s equally as beautiful and it has so much to offer in terms of culture, atmosphere and character.
My views on having a wedding here are that; they should be more frequent and sought after. Photographing weddings is as much about the location as it is the people. Its the wedding location that can really help create an atmosphere that makes the people really enjoy themselves.
