Wynyard Hall Wedding Photography
I’ve been photographing weddings all over the world for quite some time now. Many couples ask me “Which is the best wedding venue you’ve photographed at?” My response is always; “Its not about the venue is always about the people.” Now I can add; “Unless you’re getting married at Wynyard Hall, then it’s all about the venue!”
Ok so this isn’t entirely true though since making some Wynyard Hall Wedding Photography for Mary + Chris in 2022 its one of my favourite wedding venues to photograph at in the world. Tucked away in the North East of England, Wynyard Hall is both exclusive for weddings and also beautiful unique. It has over 120 acres of countryside and its very own 12th century chapel. The stately rooms and the luxury accommodation makes for the dream place to get married. Not just for you as a couple but for your wedding guests experience also.
It’s such a great place for a wedding as far as photography is concerned. So much so that I even wrote a separate article named “Why Wynyard Hall Is Perfect From A Photographers Perspective“.
Also having photographed weddings here already, I’ve been lucky enough to taste the food here. The chefs here who are renowned for producing modern British cuisine make the most amazing dishes using locally produced ingredients.
Bridal Photos At Wynyard Hall
I said at the start of the post that its not always about the venue its about the people. Though the bridal preparation room here makes for the most amazing wedding photos. The shape of the room, the space and the light are a photographers dream. I love making these pictures on the morning of Mary’s wedding. Whilst I wasn’t forcing anything and letting the morning flow it was so easy to capture the candid moments of Mary and her bridesmaids with my cameras. Always aiming to be subtle I just love to photograph important moments between family and friends. Here are a couple of my favourite bridal photos at Wynyard Hall.
Wynyard Hall Wedding Ceremony
This 12th century chapel is just perfect for a wedding ceremony. Firstly because it just looks bloody gorgeous and secondly the light in here is perfect. You can read more about this in my article about why I love taking photos here. The light was so good here during the wedding ceremony that I even took my bride and groom back inside the chapel for some photos later in the day when it was empty.
Bride & Groom Photos
Already mentioned earlier is that this whole wedding venue is just perfect as far as wedding photography goes. One song reason for this is that its just the perfect backdrop for laid back and not forced wedding photos of just the bride and groom. From walled gardens, long driveways, a huge lake and plenty of woodland I could just walk around here with my camera taking great photos without any people in! You can see more potential photography in these Wynyard Hall Pre Wedding Photos.
Formal Photographs
There’s seems to be a growing trend of more and more newlyweds not wanting tons and tons of group photos. I can see why actually. A wedding day goes so by so quickly that you don’t want to spend a huge amount of time standing around. However its great to get some photos of perhaps your bridesmaids, groomsmen and important family members. Of course I’m always happy to make more of these images. However I try to keep the “formal” photos and “informal” as possible.
