A “Little” Royal Liver Building Wedding

September is an amazing month to get married. There are the super long sunsets and cool breezes and warm sunshine. However at this Royal Liver Building Wedding the weather was pretty awful. Well I say that but it was just the wind. Having a wedding venue on Liverpool’s iconic waterfront is a pretty cool idea. However if its going to be windy anywhere its going to be right here! It was so so windy outside I could barley stand up when I went outside for a quick check to see if we could go out and shoot some portraits later in the day.

City of Liverpool Wedding

Steph and Ross booked me as their wedding photographer after finding me online and then having a short Skype call to get to know each other a little. Time always flies so much between me booking my couples and the day of the wedding. I love city weddings and especially as it my home city of Liverpool. The river and the iconic buildings that line the waterfront are just the perfect place for photos.

This wedding was themed around the fact that Ross and Steph love to travel. They had flags on each table from countries they’d visited during their time together and also had a slideshow playing images and videos from their travels. As a keen traveller myself I love this idea. There was a really close family feel to this wedding too. During the bridal preparations the girls were all hanging out drinking bubbly and joking around. Then the guys where joking and making fun of each other whilst waiting for other wedding guests to arrive and then finally the bridal party.

I know I said earlier that it was just too windy to go out and shoot any portraits. I didn’t want to give up and Steph was really keen on getting some shots of them with some of the iconic buildings. Not too long before the sun was beginning to set the light was just beautiful outside. It was so good I took my camera outside and took a few test shots and checked the wind. It was still windy and cold but I knew I could get something that they would love. So we went for it. You can see some shots below that made their Royal Liver Building Wedding pretty awesome.

Safe to say that these guys are a super happy couple and I just loved the way they looked at each other all day long. I hope you enjoy these images from their wedding at The Venue at The Royal Liver Building.
