Granary Estates Wedding Photography

I keep telling myself that I’m not going to take any more weddings on new years eve anymore. Though when Lauren and Bradley asked me to shoot their granary estates wedding photography, I couldn’t resist. I’m so glad I didn’t turn this wedding down. Newmarket and its surrounding areas are so beautiful and this barn wedding venue settled into the countryside is so nice. This wedding started with a church wedding ceremony at St Marys’s church in Bury St Edmonds. Then we took the drive through the Essex countryside arriving at The Granary Estates.

Bride and Groom Preparation Photos

With the preparations for this wedding taking part outside of Woodditton just outside Newmarket, I had to cross the border of Cambridgeshire and Suffolk. I love to capture both the groom and his groomsmen getting ready as well as photographing the bride and her bridesmaids as it ties the beginning of the wedding story together. Bradley the groom got ready at a private residence in Great Ashfield and Lauren the bride got ready at the Bedford Lodge Hotel in Newmarket. Both locations were ideal for setting the scene and capturing the anticipation and the two of them making themselves looking so good for each other.

Suffolk Church Wedding Ceremony

Whether or not I’m a traditionalist or not is a conversation for another day but I do love a church wedding. Especially when it’s in a church like this one. This wedding ceremony took place at St Mary’s church in Bury St Edmunds, Suffolk. It had such a regal feel to it. Lauren walked down the aisle after her bridesmaids with her father before seeing her husband-to-be at the end. Bradley got quite emotional when he saw his bride walking down the aisle. The weather is never guaranteed in the UK especially when it’s a December wedding. It rained pretty much all day for this wedding. Though like I say to anyone concerned about the weather on a wedding day; A wedding is all about the people and the moments they make.

Granary Estates Wedding Reception

Look how happy these two are to be married, got the ceremony out of the way, and be at the stunning Suffolk wedding venue. You can if you like have your wedding ceremony here as it’s licensed and can hold up to 175 if you want a large wedding here. It’s actually two barns that joined together via an open glass walkway which has a stunning private courtyard in between. One thing you can’t see in these images is the hard work that gets put in by the team here at the Granary Barn. There were so hands-on and really helpful, not only to me but to all of the wedding guests, etc.

As I’ve mentioned already, it rained pretty much all day at this wedding and it was dark for most of the day with it being a winter wedding. I hope from these images you can see how good a time all of the wedding guests had. Also, I think the pictures are pretty good even without gorgeous sunshine. I hope you’ve enjoyed looking through this granary estates wedding photography and if you or someone you know is looking for someone to shoot their wedding, I’d love to hear from you.
