Milo & Lucy

Milo & Lucy

There is something magical about photographing horses. Now I wanted to say photographing horses with their owners but since I’ve been doing this sort of work I think it’s pretty lame to use the word “owner’s”. To me it’s about capturing a bond between two beings. Not that someone owns the horse rather, they belong with each other.
This was highly the case for Lucy and Milo.
If I had to use a word to describe their relationship from the short time I’d spent with them it would be,
Now I know that’s not a super exciting or adventurous word to use but it’s all I see when I look back. Lucy had a constant smile on her face and Milo just loves her company.
I would honestly describe the weather on this particular morning as miserable. Now if you take a look at the images in this blog you’ll notice that they look anything but miserable. That’s the proof to me that their relationship and personality really does shine bright.
Lucy often takes Milo galloping in the fields, but for the shoot we wanted to keep Milo moving slowly and peacefully as that’s the look I was going for.
Milo wasn’t to know he was having a shoot and a couple of times tried to gallop off whilst we were trying to get a specific shot. You could tell that when he is with Lucy, he just wants to have fun.
The relationship they have is great and if anyone has that sort of bond with their horse then you have something special.
Initially the shoot was for just Lucy and Milo but I couldn’t resist but capture some of their other furry friends. Gracie a rescue dog from Tunisia and their 9 month old chocolate lab Freddie. Great dogs with tonnes of personality. You can see a couple of shots below of these two.

Before you get down to the photos, i gave Lucy's mum Donna a few questions to answer about her experience.

Here is what she had to say;

How did you feel about the work I have done?

"Aside of taking fantastic photos, you were friendly, fun and approachable,Lucy felt very comfortable with you which gave her a great relaxed experience. We never felt rushed at any point either!"

What could I change or do that would improve my photography services?

"Invest in some wellies for dry feet and always carry mints for horse shoots! 😂 Very happy with your services and don't feel you need to improve in any area!"

If a potential client was on the fence about booking a shoot with me what would you say to them?

"Would totally recommend you to friends, family and strangers, not just for the lovely images but the whole fun relaxed experience."

What was your favourite part about the shoot?

"Lucy loved all of it,and Ben was very excited that you took time out to show him your camera and let him have a turn!!"

Which is your favourite photo?

"Honestly we still can't choose a favourite as there are so many lovely images! Thats why we were thrilled to choose the memory box to keep all those lovely images,i don't think we could have just choosen one or two, amazing just how many great images there were! Priceless. Thank you Ste from the Wright family.xx"
