Emotional Wedding Photography

Wedding photography is one of the most beautiful genres of photography there is. It’s the happiest day of a woman’s life, or so I’m led to believe. When looking for a wedding photographer people spend hours looking at pictures to try and find who is right for them. To me there is more to an image to just how it looks.

Behind every photograph are stories, emotions and feelings.

How you want them captured should be discussed with your photographer before you book him/her. If a photographer’s images are stunning and beautiful, how do you know if he/she has captured the emotions and stories that the client wanted? Yeah for sure, he will get the style they were after, that’s why they booked him/her in the first place, but did he capture the emotions just how they wanted?

Before I allow a client to book me as their wedding photographer I go into fine detail about exactly what they want, because I don’t want to shoot a wedding if I am not 100% sure what the client wants. I can’t be me and work with all your ideas in mind. My style is my style and that’s what attracts people to my photography, but it’s so important for me to understand what you want me to capture whilst working my style around it.

If you know someone who is getting married, make sure they find out what the wedding photographer is capable of capturing. Not just their style. Style is important but ensure they have a relationship and a mutual understanding of exactly what the end goal is.

Here is a selection of some emotional wedding photography taken from some of my wedding shoots. Try and look though the style and composition and see the mood, story and emotions in the images. To me these are the photographs that tell the true story of the day and what it meant to all your guests.
